QUALITY CONTROL TEAM Supervisor

Full time with benefits. Work daytime hours Monday - Friday 11am - 7pm with shift breaks. Off weekends + holidays, plus paid time off, matching 401K, staff meals, employee discount, and more.

Pay starts at $18/hour. Higher hourly pay is available for applicants with Food Handler Certificate, HACCP Certification, and/or bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. On-the-job training is provided.

Duties include preparing spices and ingredient set ups for the sausage, salami, hams, and more that Smoking Goose makes.

Detailed monitoring of production, packaging, and shipping is needed to complete HACCP documentation.

The Quality Control Team Supervisor oversees the Sanitation Team and inspects their work, along with making corrections when needed.

Fulfilling these responsibilities means filing paperwork, keeping records, calibrating devices, counting inventories, maintaining facility safety, and being part of the team that develops and tests new recipes.

Keen attention to detail is required. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to efficiently use a computer including programs like word processing and spreadsheets.

Being able to work in refrigerated environments, crouch, kneel, use ladders, and do some heavy lifting is necessary for this hands-on position.

The ideal candidate has related prior experience in food production, quality control, or leadership roles, but again, on-the-job training is provided.

Retail Sales Associate: Food Prep + Customer Service, full-time with benefits

Public Smokehouse is Smoking Goose’s retail market, open to the public for walk-in shopping and pre-order pick up. For more info, check out shop.smokinggoose.com

Public Smokehouse is open Monday - Wednesday 10am - 6pm, Thursday - Friday 10am - 7pm, and Saturday 9am - 5pm. Saturday availability is required for this position.

Starting hourly wage is $15/hour base pay plus tips. Full-time staff enjoy paid time off, matching 401K, health insurance, and more. Perks for all staff include employee discount, staff meals and snacks, plus more.

Previous experience in retail food sales or culinary production is preferred, but on-the-job training is provided and all those with a passion for working with good food and great people are encouraged to apply.

As Public Smokehouse is open to walk-in customers, associates also engage guests with exceptional front-line customer service both in person and over the phone.

Duties include preparing, cooking, and packaging seasonal food specials in the Public Smokehouse kitchen plus stocking, creating displays, packaging orders for pick up or shipping, and running the cash register.

MEAT CUTTER / SAUSAGE & SALUMI MAKER

Full time with benefits + on-the-job training provided. Work daytime hours Monday - Friday. Off evenings, weekends, and holidays. Practice old-school butchering plus sausage making, ham making, and more as part of Smoking Goose’s Production Team in our USDA-inspected meatery.

Although on-the-job training is provided, prior culinary, cooking, or butchering experience is desirable. Candidates must have an eye for consistency and quality as well as the ability to work in a refrigerated environment and do some heavy lifting.

Please note, this is not a slaughtering position but rather a charcuterie making position. Duties include cutting meat by hand using traditional seam butchery techniques as well as trimming out portions for specific recipes and using charcuterie production equipment for sausage stuffing, ham brining, bowl cutting, and more.

The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills and attention to detail while maintaining an organized, clean workspace.

An eye for quality and consistency is also needed to ensure all products and packaging are in good condition and meet shipping standards. Working efficiently and accurately within deadlines is necessary, as is the ability to do some heavy lifting and work in both refrigerated and un-airconditioned environments.

Previous experience in a similar position shipping perishable items is preferred but not required. On-the-job training is provided.
