SAUSAGE MAKER / MEAT CUTTER full time with benefits

Practice old-school butchering plus sausage making, ham making, and more as part of Smoking Goose’s Production Team in our USDA-inspected meatery. Please note, this is not a slaughtering position but rather a charcuterie making position. Duties include cutting meat by hand using traditional seam butchery techniques as well as trimming out portions for specific recipes and using charcuterie production equipment for sausage stuffing, ham brining, bowl cutting, and more.

Prior culinary or butchering experience is preferable but not required, and on-the-job training is provided. Candidates must have an eye for consistency and quality as well as the ability to work in a refrigerated environment and do some heavy lifting.

Work daytime hours—off evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time positions include paid time off, matching 401K, health insurance, and more. Staff meals by a private chef are offered two days a week, plus enjoy a staff discount in our Public Smokehouse fine food market and more perks. RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE: food prep + customer service

Public Smokehouse is open Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm and Saturday 9am - 4pm. Flexible schedule within this hours is available. Please indicate your preference for full or part time hours in your application.

SANITATION TEAM MEMBER: training provided

Working schedule: off evenings and weekends. work 10am-6pm Monday-Friday with lunch break.

Starting pay and benefits: $14 per hour with employee discount and perks; after 90 days of full-time employment, benefits include five days Paid Time Off, matching 401K, and health insurance. Opportunities for advancement in various departments are available. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities: No previous experience is necessary and on-the-job training is provided. Inside the production space, duties include washing the dishes, equipment, and rooms we use to make sausages, salumi, and smoked meats. Please note that Smoking Goose is not a slaughtering facility but rather a culinary production space. Keeping the building clean and tidy both inside and out means trash and cardboard removal, cleaning floors, litter removal, sanitizing surfaces, and more. Some janitorial cleaning in restrooms, breakroom, offices, and meeting rooms is also part of the job.

Physical Requirements: Sanitation Team Members must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs and be able to work in the refrigerated food production space. They must be able to work on their feet for a full shift and must be able to clean by hand using brushes, brooms, mops, dust pans, squeegees, and more. Particularly inside Smoking Goose’s USDA-inspected culinary space, staff must wear personal protective equipment which is provided by Smoking Goose and includes cloth overcoats, hair nets and beard nets, gloves, aprons, goggles, and the like.

order picker + shipping Assistant

- work Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (off evenings, weekends, holidays)

Daily responsibilities include accurately gathering packages of bacon, sausages, salumi, and more to assemble the pallets and packages that Smoking Goose ships across the country. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills and attention to detail while maintaining an organized, clean workspace. An eye for quality and consistency is also needed to ensure all products and packaging are in good condition and meet shipping standards. Working efficiently and accurately within deadlines is necessary as is the ability to do some heavy lifting and work in refrigerated and un-airconditioned environments.

Previous experience in a similar position shipping perishable items is preferred but not required. On-the-job training is provided.

This position is part of the tight-knit Shipping Department Team and works closely with the Shipping Supervisor. Opportunities for advancement are available.

Quality Control Supervisor + Recipe formulation: Full time with benefits

Work daytime hours Monday - Friday with pay starting at $18/hour based on experience plus paid time off, matching 401K, health insurance, staff meals and employee discount, plus more.

Keen attention to detail is required. The Quality Control Supervisor must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to efficiently use a computer including programs like shared drives, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Being able to work in refrigerated environments, crouch, kneel, use ladders, and do some heavy lifting is necessary for this hands-on position that generally means standing and walking for a major portion of each shift.

The ideal candidate has professional kitchen and/or food production and/or sanitation experience and has worked in leadership/supervisory roles. Knowledge of HACCP Documentation and Quality Control Management is a plus, but on-the-job training is available for the right candidate.

The Quality Control Supervisor works closely with the Quality Control Manager, Sanitation Team, and Smoking Goose’s Charcuterie Production Team. Duties include preparing spices and ingredient set ups for daily recipe formulation, helping to supervise the sanitation team and inspecting their work along with assisting in corrections when needed, and monitoring production, packaging, and shipping in order to complete HACCP documentation for all areas of Smoking Goose’s facility. Fulfilling these responsibilities includes filing paperwork, keeping records, calibrating devices, counting inventories, maintaining facility security, and recipe development and testing.
